"Welcome" from Pastor Gary PDF Print E-mail

Welcome Friend,

I am very pleased that you took the time to visit our web site. It is my goal as pastor of Edgewood Alliance Church to lead a body of believers that are meeting the needs of the people of the church and the people of our community. I think that Ephesians 4:11-13 is a very important passage of scripture that defines my understanding of my task as pastor. It says, "11)It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12)to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13)until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

From this passage, I take my primary responsibility to be the training of people. I love to meet with people in a classroom, church service, and in one-on-one meetings. It is my sincerest desire to teach people about how the Bible is relevant to their lives and how it can be applied to every aspect of daily living.

I am very blessed with a wife of 23 years. We have 3 wonderful children involved in the local school system ranging from 6-12 years old. My family is the most important thing in my life outside my relationship with Jesus Christ. I became a Christian at age 13 and have been growing in my faith ever since.

Having spent over 20 years in the business world before becoming a pastor, I understand the "real world" in which we live. I also have spent the past 7 years in full time pastoral ministry. I have my Bachelor's degree from Liberty University in Pastor Ministries. I am currently completing a Master's Degree in Ministry Leadership through Crown College.

If you have any questions or concerns, I would enjoy the privilege of helping you. I am available to answer your questions, help you with your financial struggles, teach you about marriage principles, or just consult with you about your specific needs.

May you be sincerely blessed by God today,

Pastor Gary Russell
